{"id":45730,"date":"2024-05-14T08:55:40","date_gmt":"2024-05-14T08:55:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.icip.cat\/event\/converses-amb-rita-segato\/"},"modified":"2024-05-14T09:02:32","modified_gmt":"2024-05-14T09:02:32","slug":"converses-amb-rita-segato","status":"publish","type":"icip_event","link":"https:\/\/www.icip.cat\/en\/event\/converses-amb-rita-segato\/","title":{"rendered":"Conversations with Rita Segato"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>From May 24 to 29, the anthropologist and feminist <strong>Rita Segato<\/strong> will be in Barcelona to participate in the <a href=\"https:\/\/literalbcn.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fira Literal<\/a>. During her stay, she will participate in two events on the collaboration and co-organization of the ICIP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Segato is mainly known for her research on gender-based violence and the relationships between gender, racism and colonialism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first event will occur on Sunday, May 26, at 12.30 pm at the Fabra i Coats Creation Factory. The ac<strong>tivity is entitled &#8216;Feminism against punitiveness&#8217;. It will be a conversation between Segato, <\/strong>Laura Macaya, educator and co-author of the book &#8216;Alianzas Rebeldes&#8217;, and <strong>Nuria Alabao<\/strong>, journalist and PhD in anthropology. <strong>Sandra Mart\u00ednez<\/strong>, responsible for the &#8216;Alternatives of Security&#8217; area of the ICIP, will moderate the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This space for debate will occur within the Fira Literal framework. It has been held annually since 2015 and is a trade fair for critical thinking books in any language. All the activities of the fair are free and open to the public. Public members can access all rooms on a first-come, first-served basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second activity, co-organized by ICIP and Barcelona City Council, will occur at the Social Hub on Wednesday, May 29, at 6.30 pm. With the title &#8216;Contributions of feminism to global challenges for peace&#8217;, in this event, Segato will reflect on the contribution of decolonial feminism to the understanding and transformation of violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Journalist <strong>Laura Aznar<\/strong> will moderate the event. It will include an open turn for the public.
