The ICIP is organising two events with geographer and activist Ruth Wilson Gilmore, one of the most influential voices in contemporary abolitionist thought. She is known for her work on prison abolition, structural racism, and alternatives to punishment. Both events will take place in Barcelona and offer an exceptional opportunity to hear and engage in dialogue with a key thinker in the transformative justice movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Talk: \u201cAbolishing the Punishment Industry: Challenges and Political Practices for Emancipation\u201d<\/strong>
This session, led by researcher Ainhoa Nadia Douhaibi, will address the connections between the prison system, racial capitalism, and the geography of punishment while exploring how abolitionism can be translated into a transformative political practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
