{"id":62633,"date":"2026-05-18T12:09:16","date_gmt":"2026-05-18T12:09:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.icip.cat\/?post_type=icip_event&#038;p=62633"},"modified":"2026-05-18T14:13:37","modified_gmt":"2026-05-18T14:13:37","slug":"no-war-no-kings-rethinking-power-and-peace-in-times-of-conflict","status":"publish","type":"icip_event","link":"https:\/\/www.icip.cat\/en\/event\/no-war-no-kings-rethinking-power-and-peace-in-times-of-conflict\/","title":{"rendered":"No War No Kings: Rethinking Power and Peace in Times of Conflict"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On 27 May, the Hub Social in Barcelona will host the conversation <em>No War No Kings: Rethinking Power and Peace in Times of Conflict<\/em>, the first public event organised by BCN4Peace, the new alliance promoted by ICIP, the Centre Del\u00e0s d\u2019Estudis per la Pau and NOVACT, with the support of the Ajuntament de Barcelona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event will bring together two leading international voices in peacebuilding, civil rights advocacy and democratic resistance: Iranian peace strategist Sanam Naraghi-Anderlini and Berkeley professor john a. powell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Naraghi-Anderlini has recently spoken out about the human cost of the war involving the United States, Israel and Iran, taking a critical stance both against war and against the Iranian regime. With more than 25 years of experience working in conflict zones, she contributed to the drafting of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on women, peace and security and leads ICAN, a network active in more than 40 countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, john a. powell is one of the most influential intellectual figures in debates on polarisation, racism and democracy in the United States.
