When managed constructively, they contribute to social progress. If they are not recognized and treated in time, they can affect social coexistence and, in extreme cases, escalate to a scene of violence. When a sector of the population denies legitimacy and advocates the elimination of divergent democratic thinking, polarization becomes toxic: a destructive dynamic that also affects established democracies.<\/p><p>This line of work offers <strong>tools for analyzing, managing and transforming conflicts<\/strong>, with a particular emphasis on the case of Catalonia. The primary tool for preventing or redirecting conflicts is dialogue. <strong>Political dialogue<\/strong>\u00a0at an institutional level and<strong> social dialogue<\/strong> is in all spheres of society.<\/p><p>The necessary conditions for a dialogue do not always exist, but we can always help promote them. Committing to dialogue requires what we have called \u201c<strong>CARES<\/strong>\u201d:<\/p><ul><li><strong><u>C<\/u><\/strong><strong>uriosity<\/strong>\u00a0to understand the reasoning of those who think differently,\u00a0<strong><u>A<\/u><\/strong>nd:<\/li><li><strong><u>RE<\/u><\/strong><strong>spect<\/strong>\u00a0for all people, regardless of their positions, plus:<\/li><li><strong><u>S<\/u><\/strong><strong>elf-criticism<\/strong>, because no one holds the absolute truth.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-2f59af0 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"2f59af0\"
