The prevailing security model has proven limited in guaranteeing a peaceful society and in offering a comprehensive response to violence because its deployment is fundamentally state-centred and belligerent and does not focus on the people’s needs.<\/p>

As a result, in recent decades, alternative knowledge and projects have been generated that open up new perspectives on understanding security<\/strong> and the necessary means to provide it. These proposals highlight the urgency of transforming all forms of violence<\/strong> beyond the most immediate and visible expressions and the importance of doing so through the equal guarantee of rights and freedoms and the management of all discrimination.<\/p>

From ICIP, we start from the hypothesis that any security model that deals with conflicts without being based on peacebuilding is destined to fail. This underscores the vital importance of peacebuilding in any effective security model. For this reason, from the work area “Alternatives for Security”, we have been consolidating the analysis of the achievements, opportunities and weaknesses of current practices and security policies as our main purpose.<\/p>

To do this, we\u00a0 highlight the importance of pacifism and feminism contributions<\/strong>, stimulating on the articulation between theory and practice, and promoting spaces for co-construction and dialogue between diverse actors.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
