{"id":16042,"date":"2015-02-25T14:14:47","date_gmt":"2015-02-25T14:14:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.icip.cat\/the-iccp-awards-the-icip-constructors-of-peace-prize-2014\/"},"modified":"2021-02-10T16:00:23","modified_gmt":"2021-02-10T16:00:23","slug":"the-iccp-awards-the-icip-constructors-of-peace-prize-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.icip.cat\/en\/the-iccp-awards-the-icip-constructors-of-peace-prize-2014\/","title":{"rendered":"WILPF, 2014 ICIP Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2014 ICIP Peace in Progress Award honors the Women\u2019s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) &#8220;for its century-long involvement in the work of women for peace, as well as its commitment to disarmament, the defense of human rights and the persistence to obtain the recognition of the role of women in the building of peace.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>WILPF, which turns 100 years old this year, was a pioneer in the creation of an internationalist pacifist feminism and is a model for all initiatives of women for peace. WILPF\u2019s founding objectives were \u2013and still are\u2014&#8221;to bring together women of different political views and philosophical and religious backgrounds determined to study and make known the causes of war and work for a permanent peace.&#8221; Currently WILPF is headquartered in Geneva and New York and is present in 30 countries.<\/p>\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/icip.gencat.cat\/en\/actualitat\/Noticia\/Lliurament-Premi-2014-00002\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">award ceremony<\/a> took place on Tuesday, February 24, at the Parliament of Catalonia.
