The annual meeting brought together representatives from 21 States and 44 civil society organisations from around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The session aimed to share experiences, set priorities, and strengthen international cooperation to ensure the effective implementation of the <em>International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance<\/em>. Discussions addressed issues related to the prevention, investigation, and reparation of enforced disappearances, as well as current challenges in the fields of human rights and international justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Representing the institution, <strong>S\u00edlvia Plana<\/strong>, Head of Strategic Alliances at ICIP, highlighted the organisation\u2019s commitment to victims of violence and war, particularly to <em>women searchers<\/em>, whom she recognised as peacebuilders. Plana emphasised the need to give greater visibility to their work and announced ICIP\u2019s intention to promote a new international gathering of<em> women searchers<\/em> in Barcelona in 2026 or 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ICIP\u2019s participation built on the work initiated at the <strong>First World Congress on Enforced Disappearances<\/strong>, held in Geneva in January 2025, in which ICIP was a collaborating organisation.
