Issue number 43 of the Peace in Progress magazine, titled “Peace in the Digital Era”, explores the intersection between technology, innovation, and peacebuilding. It draws on analyses and theoretical reflections as well as practical projects that have had an impact on communities affected by digital polarization or emerging forms of violence. The publication examines issues such as the governance of digital platforms, the ethical use of artificial intelligence, social innovation in conflict contexts, and strategies to promote safe digital spaces.

The magazine features in-depth articles by Wahbi Abdalrahman, Sanjana Hattotuwa, Helena Puig, Ahmad Qadi, Evelyne Tauchnitz, Luke Thorburn, and Nerima Wako, and includes an interview with Stephanie Williams, former Special Adviser to the UN Secretary-General for Libya.

This edition of the Peace in Progress magazine is a co-edition by ICIP and Build Up. The collaboration is part of the co-organization of Build Peace 2025 in Catalonia, the annual Build Up conference on technology, innovation, and peacebuilding. The event took place from November 21 to 23 in Santa Coloma de Gramenet (Barcelona).

As always, Peace in Progress is published in Catalan, Spanish, and English, and maintains the vocation of being a critical and rigorous tool to foster debate and guide reflection on peacebuilding. This edition focuses on how to ensure that technology, instead of dividing us, becomes an ally for sustainable and shared peace.
