Violences in non-war settings program

Elisabet Navarro Abad is a specialist in conflict prevention, mediation, and peacebuilding. She has worked with United Nations agencies, international foundations, and human rights NGOs, gaining experience in multi-stakeholder dialogue, community facilitation, and advising public institutions on conflict prevention and resolution.

Before joining ICIP, she coordinated mediation and political dialogue projects in Honduras with UNDP and implemented conflict transformation processes in Latin America with the Berghof Foundation. Her professional career began in Colombia, where she supported rural communities and human rights organisations in highly conflictive contexts.

She has authored practical manuals and delivered numerous training sessions on mediation, negotiation, and conflict resolution, primarily with the Clingendael Institute. She holds a Master’s in Sustainable Peace (UPEACE), a postgraduate degree in Culture of Peace (UAB), and a degree in Social Work (UB/UNED).
