ICIP and the Delàs Centre for Peace Studies are jointly organising an online seminar that invites participants to rethink security and the role of technology in a world shaped by patriarchy, capitalism, and militarisation.
Many current technologies—from military to social control to extractive systems—reinforce inequality. Applying an ecofeminist lens to technology, violence, and war highlights the urgency of a paradigm shift in development, security, and innovation to advance toward positive peace.
The event aims to be a space for collective reflection on how to build alternative technologies and futures: how can we move from an ethic of domination to an ethic of care? How can we promote tools that serve life, grounded in cooperation and global justice?
Speakers will include Judith Membrives i Llorens, researcher in AI and digital rights and head of digitalisation at lafede.cat, and Dúnia Camps-Febrer and Pere Brunet, scholars and authors of the Working Paper “Feminist Technologies: Tools for Building Peace” from the Delàs Centre for Peace Studies.
Sandra Martínez, head of the Security Alternatives area at ICIP, will moderate the session.
The seminar will take place on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 11 a.m. (CET), in an online format via Zoom, with prior registration required through this form. Simultaneous interpretation between Catalan and English will be provided.
