Peace is a very subjective, dynamic and plural concept. How can you move forward to a shared idea of peace in those scenarios where multiple dynamics of violence overlap intensely – be it physical, cultural or structural violence-, and in which insecurities are due to very different reasons? Which should the basic contents be for a consensual peace agenda to develop? Which would the basic conditions be for its implementation to take place?

These and other questions will be at the centre of the debate between Jenny Pearce, professor at the London School of Economics, and Mariano Aguirre, analyst of international affairs and member of the Red Latinoamericana de Seguridad Incluyente y Sostenible of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.

The session will take place next Tuesday March 16th and it is framed within the series “Latin America: How to face violence from peacebuilding”

All debates in the series will stream live at the ICIP Youtube channel at 6 p.m (CET).
