For the third consecutive year, ICIP is collaborating with LITERAL, which will take place on 23 and 24 May at the Fabra i Coats.
On this occasion, ICIP is co-organising a conversation on Palestine between Israeli historian Ilan Pappé and Palestinian writer and researcher Mariam Barghouti. The event will take place on Saturday, 23 May at 1:00 pm.
The speakers will bring history and the present into dialogue to examine the logic of colonisation, apartheid and genocide, and connect it to global militarisation and the collapse of international frameworks.

LITERAL offers the public conversations addressing some of today’s most pressing issues, featuring leading authors across a range of fields. Over two days, the programme will include debates with key actors in social conflicts and national and international analysts, discussions on the social and solidarity economy, and book presentations. The fair will also host a book market and a reading space managed by the Barcelona Libraries network.
Over the past two years, ICIP has been present at LITERAL with the participation of geographer and activist Ruth Wilson Gilmore in 2025 and feminist anthropologist Rita Segato in 2024.
