Violences in non-war settings program

Sabina Puig Cartes holds a degree in Political Science and Administration from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and a master’s degree in International Human Rights Law from Essex University.  She has been working at ICIP since 2010, where she coordinates the “Violence in non-war settings” work area and is in charge of various outreach and networking projects.  Her most significant previous work experience includes the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, the International Criminal Court, Amnesty International and Justícia i Pau.

She has also lectured on the international protection of human rights at the Law School of Pompeu Fabra University and taught in the master’s degree program in Peace, Conflict and Security Studies (Blanquerna and Institute for Economics and Peace).  She was a member of the Executive Council of Amnesty International Catalonia from 2016 to 2020 and has been a member of the Advisory Board of the Catalan Mechanism for the Prevention of Torture since 2010.
